For what it is it's awesome! Sep 05, 2010
By Sam Fisher For what this program is (a low cost CAD program) it's amazing! To me it's perfect for anyone that likes to putter around the house and do your own drawings for landscaping, outdoor projects, furniture, etc.
I'm working my way through the included video tutorial which is very helpful. It steps you through almost all of the 2D tools included in the package.
Granted the program does have a learning curve, but once you work your way through the tutorial it becomes second nature.
The only downside I can see it because it's Turbocad and not Autocad there is less 3rd party books and help materials available on the market. But--for the price of Turbocad compared to Autocad I'll deal with it. :-)

Better than AutoCAD for Non-Engineers Sep 07, 2010
By Josh J. Caster I have used this version and previous versions for archaeological and geological maps, models and figures and prefer it over AutoCAD lt. The functionality is not much different than AutoCAD, but since it is not command prompt based, it is more intuitive for the professional that doesn't want a computer science degree. For those that would use this program for mapping (likely not the sole purpose for most), I can export geo-referenced vector data for ArcGIS. I played around with the terrain modeling and, while it is not "Google Sketch Up easy," it is more simple than other comparable programs I have used. For the price, it is the most usable and complete drafting program I have found.

TurboCAD Deluxe Home User Review Mar 10, 2011
By Christopher P. Fannon
"Trying To Help"
For the price, TurboCAD is a very powerful program, however it does take a proportionate amont of time to learn the many different commands and set-up features. The training manual and videos are very informative and helpful. I like that it is a true CAD package, and not just a souped up drawing program. After two weeks (10-20 hrs) of learning and playing with the system, I am now very proficient at 2D drawing, not a pro though...I'm sure there are still a lot of techniques I could learn better, and I've dabbled with 3D drawing which is a lot more difficult and less intuative. I wish it came with a set of 3D training videos to watch. I would highly recommend TurboCAD Deluxe to anyone wanting a powerful CAD program at a reasonable price who is willing to spend a little time to learn it. If you take the time to learn it, you will find it can do almost anything.

TurboCAD Nov 03, 2011
By LAB51 I'm a long time user of CAD programs and use a high end CAD program for work. I needed a inexpensive program to use at home that would let me do some simple 2D drawings. TurboCAD fills the bill rather nicely. If you are familiar with CAD than you will pick up on this program rather quickly but if your new to CAD than you are in for a big learning curve, the tutorials are rather cryptic. The program works well and has never crashed, it also is very stable on windows 7. For the price you can't beat it.
