Cheaper at the Valve online store! Apr 20, 2012
By anon Rip off.... Just go to the online Valve Store.. It's $5. Don't waste your time and money buying from one of these sellers. Sure, they are here to make money, too, but $20 is a bit much.
Fan Merch FTW! Aug 19, 2010
By Mandy S. I've bought three of these BattleMats in the last year. One Half-Life 2 "Dog" version for my brother bought nearly a year ago, one Portal "Angel" for myself and a Team Fortress 2 "Heavy" for my fiancé (not listed on Amazon), both bought 7 months ago. They're all in great condition still, with no tearing or separation on the edges. Being a fan of all three of these games, they're quite nice to look at it.
Brand new, BattleMats are slightly textured on the surface. With use, the center of the mat where the mouse most often rubs becomes slightly glossy. This hasn't caused any problems for my fiancé and I with our optical mice, however my brother had an issues with his Razer gaming laser mouse. He said it was as if the laser was reflecting off the pad and interfering itself. In games, this meant his character would abruptly turn to one side or look straight up and begin spinning in circles wildly. I found this amusing to watch but he couldn't see the hilarity. He still uses it occasionally but has opted for a fabric mouse pad for use during most fast action games.
Still, if you're a fan of these games and you've got an optical mouse, I'd say go for it. Fun fan merch FTW!
